ABOUT

Lidya Dereje (b. 2000 Atlanta, GA)  is the daughter of two Ethiopian immigrants. Her curiosity with photography was first sparked as a child while visiting her place of origin, but she later rediscovered it in her studies as a young adult.

As an individual and visual storyteller, she centers on fostering the communities in which she coexists. Through the use of visuals, she explores concepts of identity, grief, time, and love to honor the range of the diasporic experience.
